For over two decades, Videoworks has redefined the meaning of bespoke technology, creating immersive audiovisual ecosystems, giving solid and reliable technology solutions to interior designers and architects. It happened aboard of luxury superyachts and in the most prestigious Italian Organizations meeting rooms. Today, this philosophy finds a new expression through its ongoing partnership with iGuzzini, where light, sound, and vision converge to shape a truly multisensory experience.
In both yachts and architectural spaces, design and technology are most compelling when they serve not only function but emotion. Every installation begins with a clear vision. The more specific the ambition is, the more inventive the solution. On a yacht — where space is finite and all energy is generated on board — this challenge becomes a delicate dance between engineering expertise and aesthetic refinement.
That same precision defines Videoworks’ approach on land, as seen in its collaboration with iGuzzini at its new showroom in Recanati in Italy’s Marches region — a 1,400 sqm indoor and outdoor space designed by Alfonso Femia with lighting design curated by Artec Studio.
“iGuzzini develops advanced, energy-efficient lighting solutions for cultural, retail, hospitality, urban and workplace environments, combining technological research, design excellence, and a commitment to enhancing visual comfort and human well-being. The perfect partner, in other words, for specialist systems integrator Videoworks,” says Jacopo Messi, Physical Channel Specialist at iGuzzini.
Design at the Service of “Good Light”
Across the showroom, approximately 1,200 different products are installed, totaling 7,000 fixtures managed through multiple control systems. The exhibition path guides visitors through a dynamic range of visual experiences: diffused light, circadian lighting, vertical illumination, graphic light patterns, colored light, and even invisible light.
The foyer hosts iGuzzini Echoes, the collection celebrating the company’s most iconic designs created by Master of Design.
At the heart of space lies the Light Theatre — a 300-square-metre auditorium with 99 seats, expandable to 150 — conceived for immersive light-and-music performances featuring around 900 programmable scenes. In the remaining 700 square meters, six thematic areas explore lighting applications across culture, retail, hospitality and residential, working environments, urban contexts, and intelligent light solutions.
Externally, the Outdoor Lab presents systems developed for infrastructure, parks, façades, and private gardens, showcasing intelligent lighting solutions designed to optimize energy efficiency. Lighting is no longer purely functional; it becomes a tool to shape atmosphere, accompany different moments of the day, and adapt to specific situations.
Invisible infrastructure, tangible impact
Within this sophisticated architectural environment, Videoworks engineered the complete audio and video ecosystem — ensuring that light, sound, and image operate as one unified language.
“In the Light Theatre, a 10,000-lumen Epson laser projection system integrates with a professional audio setup, managed through advanced control processors and custom Videoworks software to guarantee perfect synchronization between multimedia content and lighting scenarios,” says Nicola Rossi, Business System Engineer at Videoworks.
Across the Application Solutions Areas, multiple laser projection systems and a distributed 22-speaker audio architecture enable multimedia storytelling that interacts seamlessly with iGuzzini’s lighting control platforms via KNX/IP protocol.
In the foyer, Samsung Large Format Displays (up to 85”) combined with Bright Sign media players deliver dynamic, high-impact communication.
The intelligence behind the experience
What further elevates this project is the software and integration layer.
As a systems integrator in both the audio-video and lighting sectors with its own software house, sister company Itworks, Videoworks can leverage the full potential of Crestron systems to interface with a wide range of lighting platforms in both Architectural and Hospitality environments. Through a single, intuitive graphical interface — accessible via iPad, tablet, or PC — all the different technologies within the exhibition space are unified and controlled seamlessly.
“This means that video projections, professional audio, architectural lighting, and interactive scenes coexist within a single ecosystem,” says Daniele Betti, Senior System Engineer at Itworks. “The visitor does not perceive separate systems, but rather a fluid experience where visual wellbeing, immersive storytelling, and dynamic light performances blend naturally. With a single command, users can activate combinations of lighting, sound and video designed to enhance a product or create an immersive atmosphere.”
Technically, this integration was achieved by orchestrating communication between KNX, DALI, DMX, and Casambi lighting protocols, alongside video processors managing institutional and narrative content. The complexity of multiple control languages and infrastructures is translated into a simple, elegant user experience.
In essence, the showroom has been transformed into an interactive ecosystem where:
- Technical complexity is simplified through custom Videoworks software engineering.
- Professional audio systems (K-Array / Audac) and high-power Epson projection give voice and depth to iGuzzini’s light.
- Every element — light, sound, and video — responds as part of a single coordinated architecture.
Inspired technology
As in its most advanced marine installations, Videoworks’ added value lies in bespoke software development and system integration to create an invisible yet essential infrastructure that transforms technical complexity into a smooth and intuitive experience for the end user.
“We apply the same approach in both the residential and yachting sectors,” says Alessandro Cicciu, Business Division Sales Manager at Videoworks. “The environment changes, but the integration philosophy remains the same: connecting different systems and turning them into a coherent, easy-to-manage platform.”
From sea to shore, Videoworks continues to shape environments where innovation dissolves into experience — where technology becomes invisible, and only emotion remains.
Videoworks is a global leader in the design and integration of AV/IT, security, automation, and entertainment systems for the luxury yachting sector. With offices across Europe and the Americas, the company is known for pairing cutting-edge engineering with user-centric design – creating onboard experiences that are as smart as they are seamless.
