Entertainment & AV specialist Videoworks has announced that it supplied the complete audio-visual and IT package for the 67-metre (220-foot) custom Heesen yacht Sparta. This milestone project signifies the commencement of a strong partnership with the renowned Dutch shipyard, which specialises in full-custom, smart custom, and series of superyachts in the 50 to 80m (164 to 262m) sector.

Each Videoworks system is uniquely tailored to the yacht it serves, and the equipment on Sparta reflects the distinctive preferences of its owner. This is particularly evident in the graphical user interface, which was crafted to complement the Winch interior of the yacht.

Crafted for sophisticated family living, the interior’s vibrant colours and natural motifs are mirrored in the MyInfo app, which controls the AV system. Stefan Nieuwenhuys, general manager of Videoworks Europe BV, explained, “This project demanded a highly customised graphical user interface, featuring some very specific icons and functions to match the way the build owner wanted to use the systems. We have a complete IT team in-house who did all the programming and design work to deliver that vision.”

The equipment itself is high-end for a yacht of this size, and a first for Heesen. A centralised AV rack on the tank deck houses media servers and storage, delivering audio and video content to various outlets throughout the vessel. Each zone is equipped with speakers and subwoofers for high-quality surround sound. The main saloon boasts a sizable 75-inch screen seamlessly integrated into its design.

The Heesen team have been impressed with the equipment on offer and the ease of working with Videoworks that the relationship has blossomed, with two projects in the build stage, and a further three at the proposal stage.

Nieuwenhuys added, “We are delighted to welcome Heesen as a valued new customer, and are looking forward to deepening our partnership in the future. Quality and innovation are the watchwords for our brand, and we have found that Heesen fully shares these values.”

The sentiment was reiterated by Heesen’s Piet van der Linden, manager of mechanical engineering, who stated, “It has been a pleasure to collaborate with Videoworks on the Sparta project. The team has been extraordinarily responsive over some quite demanding custom features, and communication has been excellent. We are a busy yard with a number of custom and semi-custom yachts at various stages of build, and we are looking forward to working with Videoworks on more of these in the future.”
